    I don't know if this is the video you are talking about but there have been several documentaries on the subject and much scientific discussion.  

    It has been pretty well established what the early atmosphere consisted of.  It was primarily N2, CO2, and Methane and was a reducing atmosphere.  The same general gases existed in the water where life began.  All the chemicals needed for life were available.  The molecules for precursors to life are created by pressure, lightning, UV light, geological events and cosmic collisions, time and other things.
