I'm going to saigon from bangkok and start to travel by train to hanoi. I only have 4 days in Vietnam and need to go back to bangkok. Do you think it would be possible to do this? Or do you think i should just stay around bangkok? Thank you for your help!

  1. Sorry not enough time to visit Vn unless maybe you use a plane.  You could fly to Saigon then to HaNoi and back to Thailand. Still wouldn't have any time to see very much.

Make it another trip.  cheers c

  2. The train from HCMC to Hanoi takes approx 33 hours if everything goes to plan - thats a big IF!!!!!

Check out http://www.vr.com.vn/english/index.html - This is the Vietnam Railways website in English which has the times and fares.

Which ever way you look at it, it's a full on trip with only 4 days!

Have you considered staying in HCMC for the 4 days having a great time, then return to BKK by air on Jetstar or Air Asia?

    Hope it helps. Have fun!

  3. After visiting HCM, you fly to Hanoi,

you should go to some place below:

    - Van Mieu Royal college.

    - 36 old streets and districts of Ha noi.

    - Hoan Kiem lake.

    - And many old church of Hanoi too

    Have a good tour

  4. I did once when I was small. If i remember correctly it took 2 or 3 days to go from saigon to hanoi by train (unless they have a short way to go now). Since you only have 4 days in VN so i don't think it's possible. But if you have more time I say it's worth to go. Vietnam is a beautiful country.

  5. I think you would be doing yourself and Vietnam a diservice, you will need a bit more time than this. I would say four days at either end with four in the middle would be the minimum required for a worthwhile trip to Vietnam.
