I'm thinking about buying a used Seadoo....I have heard that the 2 cycle engines are going to be outlawed on lakes in the near future...has anybody heard about this?? I live in Oregon and not aware that this could be a problem. Should I stay clear of 2 cycle and only buy4 cycle engines?? Thanks

  1. I would definitely buy  4-cycle seadoos. They are WAY more fuel efficient.  I had a two cycle and now I have a 4 cycle and i probably put half as much gas in it.  I'm not sure about the two cycles being outlawed on lakes but you should go with four cycle anyway.

  2. matter what type of riding you wish to do, some of the older ski that are 2 cycle are more fun then these new 4 cycle,  they may as weel be a boat ,  but itt like comparing what type of bike would you like?  dirt bike  street bike  harly or bmw cruser bike , as far as outlaw   how can they tell all the many of thousand people they cant ride there 2 cycle anymore?      little by little they are phasing out 2 cycle and not making them any more , so 20 years from now   who wants to ride and slow and old ski?   good luck,  when buying  try them on water, they all run great on a hose

  3. yes, 2 cycles boat engines are prohibited in some places because they leave some unburned fuel/oil mixture on the water. I expect to become more wide spread, especially in a state like Oregon   call your dmv an ask their guide lines. Be an educated buyer if you buy used .the repair parts for Sea doo are expensive.
