I've been looking for a new HDTV for awhile now and I think I've settled upon the Samsung LN40A650.

Does anyone have any experience with the TV? Would I be better off buying/waiting for something else?

Thanks

  1. I bought this tv about two weeks ago from Samsung.  If you want great HD & Blu-ray performance this is the tv.  I am addicted to the HD channels.  It really is quite clear, great color accents, very deep blacks.  I do have two gripes with the tv that I am unable to better yet. They both have to do with the Regular Cable channels.  First the clarity is worse than my last tv.  Second,  I can't get the regular channels to fit the tv to screen size.  I love the tv neverthless.  I'm giving up the regular channels for HD anyways.  Great steal now from Amazon as well.  Best HD picture for the Best price.  I battled which tv to buy as well.  And I am extremely happy with this puchase.

  2. Alright, Let me break it down for you...

Regarding the A650: it looks INCREDIBLE with the 360/PS3 and Blueray! and pretty much anything else... ALSO.... don't forget to check out Sony's new KDL-40W4100...(Those are two of the top LCDs you can get)

Like you said....Cnet.com just gave the 52 inch version of the Samsung an 8.0 rating making it their best rated LCD tv!! The picture quality is amazing!

It has 1080p, 120hz, 50:000:1 Contrast ratio, 4ms Response time, Game/movie/sports modes.. pretty much all the latest goodies to look for in an LCD

Check out info on both modelson sites like Amazon.com,Crutchfield.com,Yahoo shopping, Cnet.com, Sears.com, and their official websites and read User Reviews

I highly suggest you check out the Samsung LN-46A650 or the Sony KDL-40W4100
