Any other Bears fans out there that think Caleb Hanie should get a legit shot at the starting job?

Yes he's a rookie and yes he's playing against 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringers, but you can still see talent in a player even against bottom of the depth chart players. Now I'm not saying hand him the starting job, just give him the opportunity to play with the 1st and 2nd string and see what he can do there. To me he seems more like a QB then either of our other options. He has the size and strength to be a QB, which is more then you can say for the other 2 options. He can scramble better then the other 2 options. He's mobile enough to move in and out of the pocket, much more mobile then the other 2 options. Am I crazy to say give this kid a shot? Tony Romo was an undrafted QB, maybe the Bears have the next Romo and maybe they don't, but you don't know unless you give him a chance.

I agree they should give him a chance since the other two have shown nothing.  It's not a good sign that the Bears are not interested in finding a good QB but rather are more interested in deciding who is better between two guys who are mediocre at best and disregard anyone else who might hold some promise.

Romo needed a couple of years to mature, too. Hanie is doing well against 3rd string defenses. That alone should not influence a decision on whether or not to let him compete for a starting job. 1st string NFL defensive units are much faster, quicker, and smarter. He will not be able to adjust to that level of competition, especially as a rookie. Maybe he will be a servicable QB in the future, but don't expect him to be the next Tony Romo. Undrafted QB's go undrafted for a reason.

im one the same page your on he's obvoiusly better than than kyle and rex even though he's not playing starters just give him a chance he doesnt choke on deep passes and actually scrambles without fumbling. come on lovie make the right choice you could have the next tom brady low drafted quarterback to make it big

He won't get a shot as long as Grossman still has the pics of Lovie, that he don't want his wife to see. That's the best I can come up w/ why he is still there.
