Question:

Any other major deals completed yet - apart from the Judd deal?

Many Victorians (& Dockers fans!) were wringing their hands in anticipation that the WCE were going to miss out on the Judd deal. The Eagles wheelers & dealers are too experienced & smart to be hoodwinked completely.

Apart from not getting the No. 1 draft pick, the Eagles got what else they were after. I think they knew all along they wouldn't snare No. 1 - but had to give a try.

The Eagles will come out better for this deal, in the long run.

  1. yes

  2. nah don't agree, west coast didn't have a leg to stand on,they either took what was offered or lost Judd to the draft for nothing and Carlton knew they could give the bare minimum for the best player in the comp and retain pick 1,when you consider this years crop of youngsters were touted as average compared to other years except for kruza at no.1 Carlton have come out on top-they effectively scored a no.1 pick and a no.3 pick (in Judd) who is the number 1 player in the comp.

if west coast really had any clout in this deal they would have set their sights on say Jarrod Waite or fevola or even brad fisher,Kennedy may turn out to be ok but the kid has no pace and has struggled at the AFL level, hes played well in some VFL games but that is hardly at the same tempo as the big league-time will tell.

  3. Yeah, the AFL should step in & protect these draft kids.

They could send them all to Collingwood, where they could go to strip clubs with one of the club's  "star" players & his criminal mates. They could be chaperoned around the strip clubs & then the streets where they could do a bit of shooting up - with syringes or firearms - take your pick!

  4. I just hope the AFL steps in and ensures that the Eagles don't corrupt some other Victorian kid they pick up in the draft with their ouit-of-control, destructive culture of drugs, bikie gangs and avoidance of responsibility. The AFL should sack the head-in-the-sand board and the 'not our fault' football department and install people who can actually exercise a bit of control over a culture that is clearly off the rails.

  5. Yeah Travis Johnstone has been signed to the Lions. Dunno why Melbourne gave him up, he is a handy player.

  6. They got exactly want they wanted and they were never going for Fevola he has worse discipline problems than all the Eagles put together.

Ironical how the people kid themselves to think the Eagles are the only team associated with drugs when in fact they are the ONLY to address the issue while every club and most of their supporters pretends its not happening..

And in Rugby League they make you a part of the Australian support team if you use ecstasy and you don't even have to go rehab before you join.

  7. They might win big time or lose - you just don't know. Draft picks are unknown whereas everyone knows what Judd is capable of. Take Luke Brennan for example, he was Hawthorns first round pick (#8 I think) a couple of years back but was traded to Sydney after just a handful of games and Brett Kirk was unwanted for about 4 years before he got picked and is an awesome player.

Either way I hope West Coast get screwed.
