"know it all" - you ask, "so who will you be on here claiming as your favorite driver this time next year?" my answer will be different - i will be able to say, "the 2008 sprint cup champion and 2009 sprint cup points leader rowdy busch, thank you very much." and which driver's losing streak will you be in the process of counting then? next question please...and next time ask a hard one...

  1. when i first started watching nascar(in 1995) i was for jeff gordon and the hendrick boys

the end of 2001 when the busch cars came to memphis, i noticed a guy by the name of jimmie johnson...at daytona in 2002 when he was on the pole, i moved from jeff to jimmie.

from then on i was a hard core jimmie fan

a couple of years later, mr busch came along.

still being a hendrick guy(just now really only rooting for jimmie) i kinda started to following kyle.  when he was decent in the 87 car i bought a shirt, a couple of diecast, and after meeting him at the memphis race, i became a true fan.

when he took over the 5 car in the busch series, i was full heartily on the wagon.

moved on to the cup series, and later to jgr.

b/c im not a jr fan, i dropped hendrick and now am a jimmie johnson, kyle busch fan.

  2. "Roushketeer?" omg, that's funny..

I was never a fan of Denny Hamlin, never a hater, just never a fan, until Rowdy went to JGR, now he's kinda growing on me, and the fact that other's seem to dislike him so much, makes him that much more appealing to me.

  3. I can honestly say I have been a Penske(only because of Rusty) for awhile. He was in the Blue deuce a long time then Kurt came around and I stayed with the #2. Im not really a bandwagon guy but Ive been a JGR fan for awhile(except for the #11)

Add: After this year if Kurt were to go to another team I honestly would have to say I would follow him. He has kinda grew on me alot the past few years.

  4. I'm one... ''FOR SURE'' !!!  I even got so good at it, that, I jumped from the Wood Bros. wagon... to the Roush Wagon!

Without the horses even slowing down too !!

  5. like all of the other so called kyle busch 'fans' on this forum, you've outed yourself as a true, classic, bandwagon jumper. a real fan picks a driver and sticks with them. kyle busch did not have one single fan on Y/A before this season, he's the flavor of the month. so who will you be on here claiming as your favorite driver this time next year?

you're right about one thing dude, you will definitely be claiming to be the #1 fan of the 2008 sprint cup champion this time next year, but it won't necessarily be kyle busch. you'll be claiming to be a big fan of WHOEVER wins the championship, along with all the other bandwagon jumpers on here. it's pretty hard to argue with people who are huge fans of whoever happens to be hot at the moment, your driver will always be doing better than everyone else's. here's a question for you and all the other 'lifelong' kyle busch fans. was your screen name kyle busch's #1 fan BEFORE this year? i sure didn't see any kyle busch fans on Y/A last year, did anyone else? but boy, they're coming out of the wood works now, and every single one of them, just like you, are claiming to have been huge fans of his since he was racing tricycles as a 2 year old. give us all a break, none of you are fooling anyone.

  6. I use to drink Budweiser

I chose Dale Jr because he drove the Bud car.

Does that make me a bandwagoner?

I don't drink now and don't plan on falling off that wagon.

  7. I pick a different driver every year. This year it was Kyle, last year Jeff, before that Mark and so on. As far as teams I like the underdogs. If Bill Davis or Yates gets a top 10 I'm happy!

  8. Get off the trip.  Race fans ooh and AAH about, that guy has such a pretty face I hope he wins.  His tush looks so good I think 1,000,000 spinish leaves should pad his butt bone.

My God, racing is about the car, always has always will...  It is about building a engine from scratch comming up with valve ratio's, cam grinds and bore and stroke combinations that will create a powerful yet effeciant engine package.  Then put it in a car that has downforce handling and slick design to hold a track at record speeds put together by engineers that actually defend the brand they build for...

You take almost any pit crew member and he will tell you, I work for this team, next year I am going to work for that team.  Same for drivers, I drive a Chevy next year I am going to work for Ford.  There is no compassion in the sport for what is real racing anymore...

I have always been a Ford man and have always driven a Ford until I bought my Scion TC in 05.  That car has served me well and I changed to Toyota the first Daytona they raced at last year.  There is no bandwagon here only respect for true quality.  I have never liked Chevy and look were they moved to Mexico, where they belong...

Bandwagoneers are a penny a million on the NASCAR circuit, because people are afraid of losing.  I like this guy, then next week after someone else wins, "THAT IS MY MAN", that is the way people are nowdays in NASCAR...  Artificial stimulation of peoples ego from week to week...

  9. Nope, not a bandwagon fan, driver or team.  I hate being one of the crowd (which is why I can never be a Jr fan- I like him and he is in my top-5, but I am not fanatical).

I stuck with Kasey Kahne (and GEM) through an awful 2005 and an even worse 2007.  Definitely proves that I am not on a bandwagon!!  I stick with him everything!  I will always be his fan, but won't become a fan of the team he is on just because he is on it.  For example, I will never become a Chip Ganassi fan.

And, my second favorite is Casey Mears.  I don't even think he has a bandwagon to get on! As for his team, nothing will get me to root for Jeff.  Don't hate him, but I'll never cheer him on!

  10. I can't say as I am a bandwagon fan it is to easy to jump on when a driver is doing well because chances are you will jump back off when they do poorly I was/am a lifelong Dale Earnhardt fan and followed Jr in the Busch/nationwide series so when Sr died it was just natural for me to continue to root for Jr.  I think that may be a problem for the sport right now and why we see so much ignorance at the tracks lately ie...beer can throwing 1 or 2 do it and then a bunch of idiots jump on board and do the same thing.

  11. Nope, not me.  Die-hard Jr fan until the day he retires.  Have been since his Busch Series days, thru his good years at DEI, then thru his miserable years at DEI.  And as much as I disliked him going to the "dark side" (HMS), I stuck with him.

  12. I have a competitive nature and riding the bandwagon is too easy. It's like you aint got no guts. Don't get me wrong, I've always admired Kyles rowdiness, but he's basically had it pretty easy this season. If I was going to be a Bandwagoner, I would be a HMS fan. But even though the most popular driver in NASCAR left my favorite team, I remain a fan of DEI

  13. I don't really think I am but maybe I am IDK!! I've stayed with Jr from the beginning and I like Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson. Those are my faves but sometimes I'll cheer for other people if one of my guys aren't up front (like Gordon, Kahne, McMurray, Martin etc..etc...) Do does that make me a bandwagoner?

  14. Nope. I was a fan of RCR from the beginning, and a fan in the early days of DEI, but I don't consider myself a HMS fan. I have respect for the organization and it's other 3 drivers(well, 2 of them anyway), but I'm a Junior fan not a Hendrick fan.

  15. Hmmm, that's a good question. If Jimmie ever left Hendrick and went somewhere else, I am sure I would follow. As for liking the whole team, I don't know. I have never been a big Jeff Gordon fan, but I do tolerate him because he is on the team. If Jimmie were to go to Gibbs, as an example, I would have to try to "tolerate" Kyle! I shudder at the thought. (smirk)
