I have a tutorial center where in we offer educational assistance to students who are enrolled from kinder to College. The Name of the service is "Regular Assistance Program". In this program we help the students with their homeworks and do advance lessons using their school materials. The response of clients is good but clients often opt for the after school schedule like late in the afternoon. The center is vacant from 8am to 4 i n the afternoon. I was thinking of offering Day care service where we would cater to children ages 3 and 4, those who are not yet ready to enroll in a formal school but parents are excited about having their children get their first lessons in alphabet, numbers.. etc. My problem is I dont want to name it "DAy Care Program" I was thinking of things like "BEginners Lessons".. Can you think of any other Way to call it?

  1. How about something like Early Learners or First Steps? Your idea of Beginners Lessons is good, too. Good luck!

  2. Kinder Care, Preschool Academy,  Learning Center, Kiddie Kollege,

  3. Where I come from it has been called Pre-school

  4. Head start is a national program...maybe you can tag off of that?

    Little Steps to School

    Building Blocks for Beginners

    Kool School for Little Kids

  5. Call your local school district and see if pre-K is being offered in your area.  You may be able to work with your district to provide pre-K services affiliated with your school district.  If so, they may have a preference on what you title the program.

I do like the suggestion of branching off of your current name and calling it Early Assistance.

  6. You won't be able to use Kinder Care that is a licensed name

but Ready to Learn or Ready for School might work and is exactly the approach you want to take. You are getting them ready to learn next year in Kindergarten.

I understand the upset from EC Expert above. Day cares DO teach unfortunately some parents believe all we do is BABYSIT

I actually had a few say; "You need a DEGREE for that??"

    grrrr!!

  7. very simple.. if you solve this given problem, your problems will be solved automatically, but don't be selfish - its Natural Formula -

becoz all problems are interlinked with each other..

  8. ♥ The ABC's & 123's of Childhood

♥ Or something cute & catchy like that.

♥ Make sure your marketing strategy is great and be very informative for the parents. They will ask a zillion questions and you want to be able to answer every one without hesitation. :-)

    Good Luck!

  9. You could piggy back on your "Regular Assistance Program" and call it "Early Assistance Program" or "Preschool Assistance Program."

  10. Public schools demand more of kindergartners today than ever before.  You should market this as a "Get Ready for Kindergarten" experience.  Let the parents know that kindergarten today is like first grade a few years ago, and to help their child get an edge, they need to enroll in your program.

It's not what you call it.  It's how you market it.

  11. You can call it anything you want. I used to threaten to call my next day care Yale Early Learning Center because I was sick of people sneering at day care. Just remember, no matter what you call it you will probably have to get a Day Care license. And, by the way, what makes you think good day care centers don't already do what you are planning?

  12. In California they had a program called "Jump Start" that was a curriculum-based kindergarten preparation class... it went all school year for 4 year olds, then they went back to it for the final two weeks before they started kindergarten as a transition class. EXCELLENT program. But I think "Jump Start" is a good name! The marketing ideas are endless... "Jump start your child's education" etc. Good luck!
