  1. A sling. Buy a baby sling or other soft carrier. Seeing what you see, hearing what you hear, smelling what you smell, while securely cuddled, is all much more beneficial for a young baby than toys.

  2. try a winkle : http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp...

my baby loved it from 12 weeks on...

also, little cozies are great, too!  I like the ones from angel dear (they call them blankies)

  3. OOh! get her the Rainforest Jumperoo! My son started using it at 4 months and LOVED it!! It was by FAR his FAVORITE toy, ever!!!

(I think it's for ages 4 months + .. but 4 months is very close! Buy it now and use it when she hit's 4 months old ..)

  4. My daughter loves this lightup butterfly that makes horrible god awful laughing noises..she loves it..I hate it..

  5. Wal-Mart has these things called wrist rattles and foot rattles.. they are very inexpensive. Out of all the high-priced things I bought for my son he loved the rattles the best. He would kick and swing his arms just to hear them .. he really loved them !

  6. You should be able to find wrist rattles, though they work better on the babies' ankles.  And if you are supervising the baby's play, you can let her play with a mylar (not latex) balloon, which can be tied to a limb.  If latex pops, it is a suffocation and choking hazard.  It won't be long at all before she'll be able to use/hold rattles and an O-ball and teething rings and blankets.

  7. i just got a very colorful mobile from babysrus online and my son LOVES it! it has swirls and elephants, it is so fun! we also have lots of cloth books that he likes to look at and put in his mouth :)

  8. make them. Plastic bottles with pasta, rice, buttons in, makes all sorts of strange noises. Make wind chimes, hang them by a window. Go to a charity shop and buy lots of different textures, children love to feel different things like silk scarves, plastic wellies, bags made out of wicker, fake fur etc. My friend bought door mats made out of all different material, rubber, carpet, the wicker ones and put them on the floor, the baby loves the different feeling of them all, when he;s grown out of them she can then use them for their proper purpose!

  9. My baby loved mirrors at that age.  I put one on her changing table and it was one of her favorite places to be.  She also loved hanging toys, like from her carseat handle.

And try the swing again in a few weeks, you might find she likes it then.  My little one hated it the first time, but we tried it again later and it became one of her favorite things.

    Congratulations!

  10. my daughter has always loved the plastic baby keys and anything that makes sound and lights up at the same time!

  11. the best toys are you and your family. play with her, do funny noises, make faces, use different textures.. that way you're not only entertaining, but also teaching
