  1. I'm the remote viewer, I guess (at least one of them -- I think there are probably others here who have some remote viewing background).  I didn't formally study parapsychology, in the sense that I didn't take university classes in it.  But I was taught practical uses of it by the US military, and have studied it on my own and taught about it ever since.  It is a fascinating and important field, but like any scientific pursuit there is a lot of hard work and conscientious effort involved.  You also have to learn a lot about related fields as well, such as psychology, human perception, experimental method, statistics, and so on.  All of these things are important, and it is not something to be taken on lightly.

  2. id love to meet other parapsychologists i think its a fascinating subject one of my favorite books  that became a movie was the mothman prophecies by john keel .another was "uri" by andre puharich the late physicist  i have accumulated alot of links on this subject in a link http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Beyon...

jacque vallee, john keel ,wendelle stevens have really captured my attention for many years i hope i can be inspired by more serious investigators

  3. It's like any other field of study: there are prerequisites, tests, field study, and postgraduate requirements. You study psychology and how people can think something normal is paranormal. There are also classes on recording data for paranormal study, classes on research methodologies, and all kindsa research into the history of the paranormal.

There's also sometimes study of mythology and folklore, photographic and videographic techniques, and education about how to detect fakery.

I'm considering going back to school myself, after 15 years of actively "hunting" paranormal phenomena in the field, from ghosts and UFO's to psychic abilities. However, earlier this year, my health took a turn for the worse, and so I need to shift focus.

  4. There is a parapsychologist...a hypnotist ...and a remote viewer that I know of. Maybe they'll pop in and answer you. We're lucky to have all of them!
