Any party ideas for a 8 year old boy in a wheelchair?

my son broke his leg and will be in a wheelchair for his 9th birthday any ideas will help, thanks

** Movie party - go see one at a theater; many have party packages

** Pizza party - have the kids make their own pizza.  Some pizza restaurants offer this option.

** Baseball game - it doesn't have to be a pro game.  Even a local college game would be great to see.  If they can announce your son's birthday or put it on some kind of message board, that makes it even better.

** Kids' museum - he won't be able to do everything, but he'll be able to do a lot.  Kids' museums encourage kids to touch and press buttons.  That's all they want to do.

** Train ride (mass transit) - It depends on where you live.  If it is close enough, take the boys on a train ride.  Find out if there is a cool restaurant close to a stop, then ride back home.  In Chicago on the weekends, adults can ride unlimited on the Metra for only $5 and up to 3 kids are free (although I've taken as many as 5 for free).

** Video game party - Have tournaments set up between teams.  If you don't have one, I think Blockbuster rents consoles.  If not, ask your son's friends to see if you can borrow theirs.  I know most video stores rent games.

go some place where there arnt any rides or alought of stairs. that will make him feel really bad, and do something fun for him and his party members

A trip to a zoo, aquarium, kids movie, ball game possibly. Maybe bring in a magician for a home party, who also does fun balloons. A Mad Science party, the company that comes and does neat chemistry, robot, and other science things. They do home parties in addition to school enrichments. Maybe a trip out to a fun pizza restaurant or whatever he likes, and then open gifts in a party room if they have one.
