  1. F1's not the same without Schumacher.  Raikkonen is good, but Alonso is just a spoilt kid.  Never had any real views on Hakkinen, lucky to be in the car he was in.

The day Senna crashed, I felt like I had lost a personal friend.

  2. It was certainly more of a combative era which I enjoyed a lot.

Mikka was the only driver which Schumi truely feared and in that respect his championships were aquired relatively easy.

Mikka is in my top 5 drivers. He had so many qualities as a driver which made him fascinating to watch; gutsy, clever, stylish, dangerous, threatening without being menacing.

There is no one right now who comes even close in my admiration. You are missed Mikka.

  3. They had some great battels. Remember when Hakkinen used Riccardo Zontas BAR to overtake Schumi at Spa in 2000? Great days.

  4. Well i've begun to watch Formula 1 seven  years ago which means couldn't see Senna-Prost challange. I witnessed Shumacher and Hakkinen challange.

I agree with you about this. Neither Alonso nor Montoya do replace Hakkinen. This era was different. Shumi was stearing McLaren Mercedes cars like a spy, he wanted to become champion more than everything but Hakkinen was really tough.. Once we witnessed Hakkinen's tears after a spin.. Also Michael's tears after the campionship.. I really became upset when Mika retired and miss that days.

We need a new number one like Senna or Schumacher..

  5. A great driver in an average car against a good driver in a great car is often good entertainment.

Even though 1998-2000 was a good period, it wasn't up to the standard of 1980-1990.

  6. I totally agree with you.. No relish!!

  7. I agree with Rosbif, Schumacher challenged Mika in a Sublime McLaren in what was an OK Ferrari. Mika was possibly the only driver Michael respected and admired and I think it was reciprocated.

The look on his face after he was soundly beaten by him at Spa (98) said it all.' d**n, you're as good as me and its gonna be a b***h to beat you.'

Definately the most fun rivalry both of them have had.
