  1. My father-in-law used to do wedding photography, and he always said the best pictures were the candid ones.  As far as posed pictures...my favorite one from my wedding is of me in the foreground and my husband in the background facing me and leaning against a pew (standing beside the pew with his hand on the edge).

  2. One word - "reportage"

Reportage (prn "rep-or-tah-jj as in "garage") are photos taken when people are least expecting it. Natural shots, no posing, no mad grins. They're the best photos, I guarantee.

  3. I saw a really neat wedding photo the other day where the bridal party was in a circle leaning in over the photographer who was laying on the ground.  It gave a great view of everyone's smiling faces from an unusual perspective.  If you're looking for something unique I would suggest this.

  4. make sure you give the photographer a list of picture combinations you want.  Check with your parents and his parents, too, and make sure everyone knows when the pictures are being taken so they are ready and available

  5. Our photographer did a great job of getting most everything...there are a few I wish he got.

More focus on the groom, for the most part it's all me, not too many of him getting, pinning th bout on his lapel, shinning his shoes etc.

  6. I read an article in a wedding mag. on this recently- simple things like the dress hanging before the bride putting it on. The couple from behind walking outside, a shot of the intrance into the reception from the bride and grooms point of view- I reccomend looking through online albums and saving pics that  you love to shar with your photographer
