  1. There are plenty.

First off, your question may seem confusing to many Americans.  You are talking about a religious pilgrimage.  However, in America we think of the Pilgrims that sailed over from England in 1620 and founded the Massachusetts colony.  If you ask this question, many people might tell you just to go to Plymouth, MA.

The US has many Roman Catholic Churches that can be scene at any season of the year.  What State are you visiting?

In New York you could visit St. Patricks.  Don't miss the Cloisters Museum.  If you are up around Quebec Canada visit St. Annes Cathedral.  If you are on the west coast visit the missions.  In Mexico there is the Lady of Guadalupe Image.  There are monasteries and shrines through out the US, Canada and Mexico.

You have asked a very broad question.  It would be easier to respond to you more intelligently if we new what part of the North America you intend on visiting.
