Please if you know post links to any stores that do. I have seen some but they only hold dogs up to 10 lbs. Anyone have a dog that is about 15 lbs and you have carried your dog in a purse?

Thanks.

  1. I found one bag large enough for my Crested at Big Lots once..  well it would be fine if he'd sit or lay.. but he likes to stand in it.. and he's about half an inch too tall.  It became his "bye bye" bag.. its in the car, filled with bowls, water bottle, extra food, p**p bags, first aid kit, extra leash/collar, clothes, boots, his sunglasses, etc.

One girl I knew had her grandma make her a bag, since her dog was abit too big for most of the bags.

I do have a bag I got off ebay too.. its neat because it unzips to make a "bed"..  we refer to it as Fred's sleeping bag.. its also in the car, spread out on the seat for him to lay one..  lemme see if I can find the seller who made it..  she can make them in different fabrics, and also a matching harness vest too if you like!

It doesnt really look like a "purse" tho..

I think this is the person I bought it from..   she doesnt have any bags listed now..  she was selling them awhile back to raise money to pay a vet bill if I remember right..  but may be worth contacting the person to ask!

  2. hmmm 15lbs dog is quite hard to carry in a purse, one of the reasons why they put a 10lbs limit. I have seen dog strollers, or dog purses (they have handles) with wheels that you can haul around (mainly built for airplane traveling), that might be the best bet for you.

If you are worried about a storm coming and possibly flooding, you should consider a plastic cage because those float.

  3. No, my dogs have 4 legs and walk.

  4. My dog is about 13 pounds, and i think that my shoulder would be on fire in about 10 minutes if I tried to carry him in a purse.  A good option, if you are really worried about safety, would be a travel crate, the plastic kind.  These offer much more protection and even have a great carrying handle.  They have many of these at Petsmart, PetCo, etc.  A purse wouldn't offer any protection for the dog, only a fashion statement for you.

I never would recommend carrying a healthy dog capable of walking in a purse.  And at 15 lbs, your dog is just too big to be a purse dog.  Why not get him a really fashionable collar leash combo if you want to make a statement.

  5. yes, there are some good bags available here: http://puppylounge.com/index.php?option=...

  6. Nope. My APBT is too big and my Chihuahua has four healthy legs to walk on.

Edit: What kind of situation are you putting your dog in that you would need to carry him in a purse? Please.

  7. Why?

That would *kill* your back and sholders.

Dogs were meant to walk, not carry.

  8. Seriously all my dogs walk on their own.
