As long as there is enough love to go around, an understanding, and no issues such as jealousy I think it's fine.  I find it interesting though how a threesome might mean that one man had a boyfriend and a girlfriend, while the other two don't consider each other to be lovers.  I always thought it would be more of a mutual love between all three or so on, but I guess that isn't always the case.

If it's through mutual understanding and everybody benefits, I think it's okay.  So there's a difference between cheating and polygamy, but you seem to already know this, :)
