    Sorry, I missed the point of your question. You should probably check out the book, "Your Brain On Music" a facinating book about how the brain works.   From what I gather, there's no place in your brain where a complete image comes together. From the optic nerve, bits go all over the brain to different sections that do diffferent things, like one section just looks for lines, and another identifies patterns as so forth. The point is that after the image info leaves the eye and optic nerve, there is no place where a complete image is reassembled. So the idea of reading that image the eye sees electronically, seems very unlikely.

    "Your Brain on Music" is available on audio book and I couldn't puit it down. Facinating stuff about state of the art hi rez brain scans and the latest theories about how it all comes together.
