  1. The solenoid is not activating to throw in the starter pinion to the flywheel.

It could be either dirty connections on the solenoid or a faulty solenoid.

  2. Some b*****k on here about dm flywheels.Still a basic dish flywheel with a floating face the ring gear still sits on a solid flywheel and engages starter pinion and as for dmf collapsing and causing lock up ive never heard such c**p.Probably knackerd stater motor.Pull it out and put 12 volts through it and see if it turns if not buy a new motor

  3. Could be dual mass £300 flywheel on it's way out - see under 'What to watch out for' below

  4. Dual mass flywheel breaks up and contaminates the starter motor, unfortunately its going to cost you a few hundred quid to put it right.

  5. as above, dual mass flywheel common fault, and expensive to put right, the starter will also need stripping and cleaning

    approx job will be £600.00
