My cat was playing with cat litter in my laundry sink and I guess quite a bit got down the pipe, now it's blocked, I've tried Draino but it hasn't worked :(( Any ideas apart from calling a plumber, they're expensive !

Thanks :))

  1. I would say no. Cat litter is made of clay. That's dirt for those of you in Colorado. Acids won't do much to break this down further than it is. I would recommend taking the trap apart, and cleaning it from there. Be very careful if you have already pared drain opener down the drain. The trap will be full of it. Good luck.

  2. No miracle cure. The drains will have to be taken apart. The taking apart the trap is something you could do. It is usually just a five minute job to take the trap apart. Look under there and figure out the connections on the p trap and dismantle. Once you dump the trap out and reinstall it, fill the tub up with water and then drain it so it will flush anything remaining. I would doubt any litter got past the p trap though. Cat litter is made of absorbent clays and if alot of it is down the drain is just like dumping dirt down there.
