Question:

Any proof -yet of new schools or new hospitals, clinics, etc that were built in Iraq in last several years?

Bechtel and several other contractors bowed out last last year. There was a lot of bragging by military that US contractors had built a lot of schools and hospitals. I've yet to see a picture of one even in military papers. Seems to me that if we had built so many, there would be several pictures available.

Anyone seen any?

  1. CNN had a story on it at the beginning of the summer, I remember watching it one night. They only showed 4-5 schools and a few hospitals, but they made it sound like many were constructed over the past years or two.

  2. I personally saw 3 clinics, 4 schools and 2 police stations go up in Al Zafrinaya (Southeast Baghdad) from 2005-2006.

  3. I've been viewing a podcast, five days a week which shows the growth in the infrastructure in Iraq, including hospitals, schools, power plants, etc.

You might want to go to the link below, click on "news releases" then click on "pod casts" and start viewing "Freedom Journal-Iraq". You can't expect anyone from the mainstream media to actually leave the comforts of the Al Rashid or Palestine Hotels inside Baghdad's Green Zone and actually report on these things. That would be asking too much.

  4. On the nightly news when I get a chance to watch.
