Any quick tips/strategies while taking the SAT/ACT?

  1. On the SAT, do not guess at answer, unless you can eliminate one or more.

    Also, for the reading section, read the questions first (but not the possible answers), so that you know where to focus.  Read each paragraph and then write a couple of cue words (no more than 1 sentence) to the side to remind you what was in the paragraph.


  2. get a good night sleep before the test and relax during. it also helps if you did any work to prepare for the test. I didn't that's why I only made a 21.

  3. It's not bad really. I'm 12, and took it this year, and I'm not really a genius or anything. I looked over the SAT booklet a few times, and rested/ate well before taking the test. Don't stress it. If I can do it, you can too =)

  4. For the essay, you should have about 3 connections.

    Connect the topic to history, a book, personal experience, etc.

    That will get you good points.

    Also, go to collegeboard.com and do those SAT Questions of the Day. They have a lot of practice SAT questions. Those helped me
