Question:

Any racquets to recommend?

Any racquets anyone else wants to throw out there for last minute? I'm buying a new one tomorrow, and am hoping that it'll last.

My top three choices...

1. Prince Speedport Pro White

2. Yonex RDS 001 MP

3. Yonex RQiS 1 Tour

I currently use the Prince Ozone Seven, and find it too overpowering on shots where I can/try to put them away, easily. Sometimes in intense rallies it tends to make me spray a ball just out wide. I'm looking for a frame that is still just a tad bit forgiving, and still lets me hit more with control, just slgihtly more than the Ozone Seven, and slightly lower power, but still has some juice left enough for me so that I dont always just have to power through the ball all the time. I'm mostly defensive, but mostly just try to play the points, so I just do whatever's necessary to end/win points.

  1. I heard Golfpro offered free demos? Why not try them before jumping right in? Theres no real way you can tell if a racquet would be good for you if you don't hit with it for a while. Also, alot of racquets have similar specs and play alike, so worry about weight, swingweight, flex rating, etc, not brand or model.

  2. Use the Kfactor K3, it doesn't cost a lot more than the Prince you choose but it's extremely comfortable and most pro uses it...

  3. I use both Prince and Wilson, and I find that the Prince plays better for me. The Wilson's strings didn't seem as tight as long, and I had less control as I do with my Prince, but there could have just been something wrong with my racket, too.

  4. If you want to check out a couple more...

Babolat: Pure storm (my favorite of the 3), Pure drive,  AeroPro drive

    Prince: oZone tour, Speedport Tour

    Head: Microgel radical/prestige

Those are a few of my favorites, though i prefer the babolat pure storm and the prince speedport tour over the others.  All are lighter 'players' racquets (except the prestige) which will offer some pop, generous speetspots, and good spin production.

Looking at the 3 you like, I'd go with the speedport white, then the RDS, and lastly, the RQiS.

  5. dont get the yonex... i think head is the best, but prince is ok too

  6. ive been playing for about two years now, and the best racket i have ever used was a head microgel prestige. second best would be the wilson kblade 98.

  7. Because you already have your top choices, I wouldn't want to confuse you with more lol.. I've had a similar experience shopping for racquets too..

I didn't try the RQiS because it came out only recently.. I have the first version of the O3 white. It plays well and it suits me because my strokes are fairly flat and I drive through the ball, instead of using slice and dice play. It's a very stable racquet and it can be a good choice. if you're more of an attacking baseliner, I'd recommend the speedport white.. i understand it's very similar to the original O3 white, because it's supposed to be an updated version lol. The RDS001 mp is great too. I tried a friend's and it gave me lots of spin and kick on the serve. But after the long time it got quite laborious to use... especially when you're tired. When i got tired my shots started to get shorter and shorter.. also it got increasingly hard to get "sweet" shots.. That's just for me though... But if you can swing hard for a whole day then definitely it's rewarding to use the RDS001. It has great power, control and one of the best for volleys in my opinion. But i dont have that stamina. The RDS001 i believe is also more suited for a counterpuncher type player. For me the white is just more user friendly, more maneuverable, and a tad lighter. That's why i chose it. Hitting with the O3 reminds me of that feeling i got when i first hit with a babolat pure drive.. If you've ever hit with it you'll know what i mean lol..

I can't really tell you anything about the RQiS just because I don't have any experience with it.. sorry. But i'm hoping to get my hand on one the next time i visit a tennis shop.

  8. Use wilson. i like it alot. it works fine. does not matter how hard u hit it but it works ok

  9. i would choose a head raquet you get great control and spin with it

  10. the best racket for getting good control and power would probably be

    Wilson : Ktour,Ksixone Team, Ntour 1 & 2

Head : Microgel radical mid plus, Microgel Extreme

Prince: Ozone Pro Tour, Hybrid Hornet, Hybrid Shark

    Babolat: Pure Storm Tour

    Tecnifibre: TFight 335 (16x20)

    Yonex: RQS 11, RDS 003, RDS 002

    Dunlop: Aerogel 300, Aerogel 500

I'm currently using Wilson K tour because I got sponsorship by Wilson... so I think that's the best one on your list.

I hope this will help you :)

  11. i would recommend prince, you just need to practice more with it , that's all

  12. it depends on your comfort zone. if you like heavy, id reccomend anything prince. but if you like light raquets, go with a yonex. they're great!
