  1. For my son we did a chart.  Everytime he pottied or pooped in the toilet we marked his chart and he got a small prize or M&M.  Then we he got 10 boxes filled up he got a bigger reward.  I would also maybe try putting him in underwear and if he doesn't go in the potty he will have to be the one to feel it in his underwear.  You could put those plastic pants over it so it doesn't leak around your house.  My son was potty trained by 18 months and then we used the chart for pooping and it worked in like two days.  I would also ask the parents what they are doing so you can all be consistent.

  2. Rolled up newspaper, and a little swat on the snout. Works wonders!

  3. You could try having a sheet for each child and give them stickers for every time they use the potty! Or just give them stickers or a cheap trinket that is safe for small children. Probably not candy because some parents don't want their children eating too much or any of that, also the risk of food allergies.

  4. Bribing (most parents will call it rewarding) but bribing works best.  Get some cheap toys from the 99 cents store and hang them where the potty chair is.  Anytime the child wants a toy tell him/her that he/she needs to go potty first in the potty chair.

  5. sorry i cant help my hubby got my daughter potty trained in a week dont know how he did it.

  6. The M&M idea is a good one.   We used jelly beans -- everytime they go, they get a jelly bean.  My daughter started using the potty and tried making herself go so she could get one.

When they do use it, act like it's the greatest thing in the world.
