  1. This answer is for your previous question and this one. The sun and the moon are both used in cleansing, if the one is covering the other I don't think the normal cleansing of the earth can take place. The moon is meant to be the symbol of the female, not to sure about the sun, so I am guessing that when the moon is eclipsed then it shall be the females who feel the imbalance. But when the moon eclipses the sun it might be enhancing the energy of the moon and decreasing the energy of the sun. Most likely the best time for a female.

  2. My answer is the same as Lady Ego's, for some reason.

  3. I dont think it is

  4. I wish I knew, a lot of Indians don't even go outside in the nigh time, on those days. I should ask a family member why that is.  I just go about doing my business during the solar eclipse. That shows how superstitious I am.

  5. *shrugs*

Many cultures believed this, and for many reasons.

-Sometimes ancient peoples were worried that the sun was going away for good----Egyptians believed taht a snake was eating it,

many Thai peoples believed that a dragon was eating it, and many more people thought it was the gods' way of warning or threatening people when they hadn't been behaving.

-It's a popular myth that Jesus died during an eclipse.

I don't think it's a bad omen.  I just think it looks cool.

  6. looking at it as an ancient point of view:

imagine your living in 3000bc eyjpt, you worship the sun as Ra, and your pharoh as his son, one day the sun suddenly begins to become black, and soon it is engulfed, you belive your god is dead, bad omen? decide for yourself.

  7. No. Astrologically speaking, SOLAR eclipses block the NOW and allow us to look backwards. Helps "clean out the closet", so to speak.

  8. it's because it casts a shadow on everything and leaves the earth in darkness for a while. some people would view that as a bad thing

  11. Ancient civilizations couldnt understand what it was, why would the sun disappear? They thought that God(s) were angry so they tried to please the sun.

  15. I have never heard that it was.  I think that people back in the day was just scared when it happened and they just started saying that.  It is a normal event and now we know what is really happening.

  16. Since Ancient Times Solar Eclipses have been associated with the

death of kings. Lunar Eclipses have astrological associations with

    major effects upon "commoners".

Recent research by contemporary astrologers shows that there is a

significant probability of Distuption in a Nativity if either a natal

planet or cusp is within an arc of +/- 4 degrees of the Event.

Mundane Astrology (astrology dealing with effects of nations) has

tended to allocate drought and political upheavels to Solar Eclipses

which can last up to four (4) years from the date of the eclipse

  17. I understand a myth was about when the aztec calendar was designed as these people were excellent mathmaticians by thier own design and were keepers of time . They believed thier calendar is the only true calendar and this has proven to be correct as the lunar projections were dated centuries before they happen by the aztec people.

  18. ancient people used to believe in order in the universe. they believed that disorder in the sky was a reflection of disorder on earth. and eclipses are pretty rare (disorderly back than)

    same thing with comets.

also, anything associated with darkness is usually considered negative.
