  1. Not too far away is a Paul cafe with outdoor seating. They have sandwiches, quiche, pastries. Everything I have had there was very good.

  3. Hi, I work near the Arc de Triomphe and my favorite place when I don't want to spend alot but have good food is the "Monte Carlo" Cafeteria at 9 avenue de Wagram in the 17th (right next to Arc de Triomphe).  It's good basic food served cafeteria style.  So, for 9.20 euro you get the "menu": a main plate, a drink, and a desert.  You can spend more and get other stuff too!  It's easy as well, just walk in (use the door on the far right), then pick up a tray and help yourself.  The food is served to you so you'll need to ask for what you want.  If you don't speak french well just point it out!  People there are nice too.  I go there almost every week and like it.

Here's some details from a google search:  (it says 12-15 euros but it can be that much but the 'regular' menu is 9.20).

if you want to seat down and have a regular meal of basic french/international cooking (roasted chicken, steak, fish), a good solution is the Monte Carlo : a self service / cafeteria type restaurant on the avenue de Wagram. It looks bit like an upscale society cafeteria, you can eat fast, the food is fresh, the cooking really correct and the prices acceptable (expect to pay 12-15€). Plus it's open 7/7 and serves warm meals from 11H to 23H and they have children seats. Don't be afraid by the queue at lunch time : yes, all the neighbourhoods workers know this address but the crowd moves fast (or - if you are not on a tight schedule - you may avoid to go there between 12h15 and 13h30)

They have fresh fish and good red meat + a decent choice of vegetables. If you have kids : they always have pastas and fries.

    Phone: 01 43 80 02 20

Directions: From the Arc de Triomphe, take the avenue de Wagram direction Place des Ternes, the Monte Carlo is on the left side.

You can also get free coffee at the Regus building on 54-56 Ave Hoche.  Just walk in like you belong there then immediately turn right, walk down the stairs, and you'll find a free kitchen with coffee and internet access.  If anyone asks you just say you're there for a meeting and are waiting for your contact.
