Question:

Any recommendations from experienced actuaries

I'm about to complete my MBA. Along the way I became interested in the actuarial profession, studied for, and passed the first two exams.

My ungrad degree is in the social sciences, but I took several calculus and statistics classes along the way. The exams are no joke and I question whether self-paced studies alone will carry me through the entire series. I have debated pursuing an MS in Applied Mathematics part-time while I get my feet wet in the profession in the hopes that the extra math classes will make me more rounded. Or, should I just buckle down and (hopefully) get through all the tests?

  1. Math is not only priority here, you should know economics good enough to be able to make correction considering changes in economy on macro level, and it's not only mathematically right trends.
