  1. Shopping, especially in Puerto Banus.

  2. I've just come back from a holiday there over Christmas and New Year, the weather was lovely and warm.  Take warmer clothes for the night time.  The old part of Marbella nice with good shops and bars.  The food is great but the shops are the best.

For restaurants try La Meridiana restaurant venue is La Notte nightclub which opens up from 11pm, its at Camino De La Cruz, Marbella.

In Puerto Banus try Linekers bar or Portside.

  3. You actually could go snowboarding but it would take you about 3 hours to get to the Siera Nevada but its cold up there. Tivoli World is not in Fuengirola its in Arroyo de la Miel in Benalmadena Costa and quite honestly its not worth going at this time of year as many of the attractions owners are on holiday themselves. Puerto Banus is a must with its grand boats and yachts and also the old town of Marbella, but the restaurants and bars in this area are expensive as are the designer shops. Benalmadena Marina does not have as many big boats but the marina itself is stunning and has been awarded the best architecturally designed marina in the world many times and also has a Sea-life centre a Mississippi steamboat and lots of inexpensive shops. If you go to either take some bread with you to feed the fish, they are enormous and climb over each other to get to it. From Puerto Banus, Fuengirola and Benalmadena you can book a boat trip to see the dolphins and from Fuengirola there is a ferry to Benalmadena which is cheap and a nice way to see the coastline. Also your hotel will probably run day trips to Ronda which has the oldest bullring in Spain, Mijas which has stunning views of the whole coastline and where burros (donkeys) are official taxies. The Crocodile park at Torremolinos. Gibralta and Morroco could also be an option for you. www.surinenglish.com is the most widespread free English newspaper over here and always runs adds for trips and local events etc.You will find it with other newspapers in local bars or petrol stations. Look out for the blanket trip which is free, it takes you inland to a specialist wollen shop and then on to a typical Spanish venta for lunch.

One bar that I can reccommend in Marbella, its on the Golden Mile actually on the beach where they cook sardines outside over hot coals and its called Bar Red and run by a lovely Argentinian family. I think that they shut though at night at this time of year.

If you can hire a car then Spain is your oyster and no matter where you go the Spanish and the English are usually very friendly and helpful.

I'm sure you will have a great time, if you need any more help or advice email me at yahoo I only live 20mins from Marbella

  4. puerto banus if definitely the place to party in Marbella, but it isn't exactly run by Spaniards.  Most of the bartenders were english/australian.  definitely go to the old part of marbella to observe authentic spanish culture.

  5. go snowboarding

  6. there are no tourist attractions open apart from tivoli world in fuengirola about 15 miles away and thats only open weekend. some of the shops in the old town are good but the best place to go is puerto banus the next town down very good bars and shopping but expensive. bring warm clothes for the evening as as it drops to about 5 degrees but in the day about 20-24 in the sun. i dont think youll be on the beach much. and bare in mind not all the bars are open and the shops close between 2-5 for siesta apart from that enjoy your break it ok down here.

  7. Hire a car and go to the Sierra de Ronda, Arcos, Vejer, Ronda.

  8. lay on the beach daytime night time get wrecked

  9. Visit Puerto Banus and see how the other half live.It is only 7 km down the coast. Also consider Gibraltar.Best part of Marbella is old town, but restaurants here are more expensive.Good restaurants on sea front or just off main street. For shopping go to Cortes d"Ingles in Puerto Banus. You could spend hours here and it is not expensive at this time of the year.If you play golf try Los Arqueros, friendly and relatively cheap.Expect westher to be like our summer.Temperature at present is 20C.Good Luck.

  10. All the Bars/Restaurants will be open,So go out get yourselves a drink and have fun...
