So, I had some type of allergic reaction to something and ended up in the hospital yesterday, I had hives on my arm when i woke up in the morning and by the end of the day they had spread everywhere, neck, back, stomach, legs neck, everything, so I got put on an IV and all the hives on my legs went away. Im taking 3 different kinds of pills which I started today so there hasnt been much of an improvement yet as far as itching and the rest of the hives.

My question is this:

are there any over the counter creams or lotions or anything that will make the itchiness go away? Any tips to help relieve the hives? thanks in advance

  1. Anti itch cream. any gneric will do. bendryl.. But only if you don't have to drive  or anything.. Makes you drowsy. Cool baths..

  2. Typically, a hospital will give you epinephrine, Benadryl (by mouth or IV), and Solu-Medrol (an IV corticosteroid).  All of these work together to terminate the allergic reaction and relieve itchiness. If you are taking 3 meds they prescribed for you, I would talk to a doctor or pharmacist before I took anything else.
