Any reputable hostle's in paris, or in large France?

I don't know of any hostels, but I would also check out the site www.couchsurfing.com.  It's an international website that connects travelers with people living in the city they are traveling to.  You can arrange to sleep on someones couch, rather than paying for a hostel.  It's a very reputable site based on reviews of other people's experiences.  

    If you are not comfortable staying at someones house though, you can also arrange to meet up with people for drinks.  It's a great thing, because these people are almost always willing to show you around their city, and you get to do things you might not know about otherwise, so it's a much less 'touristy' experience.

    And these people come from all over the world, so you should have no problem finding someone in Paris, any other part of France, or anywhere else in the world.

    It's really a great site, you should check it out, if only for the excellent traveling tips it has.

  3. There are student hostels throughout Paris, and France.  The commonly used word in French is "foyer".  See the link cited for hostels in Paris, for example.
