Any research project ideas having to do with Photoshop, CSS, HTML, or PHP?

I have to do a research project where I create a product and a paper. This is a year long project that is a pretty big deal. I am an expert in Photoshop, CSS, and HTML. I would like to learn more PHP in the process. I have been considering writing a blogging PHP script like Wordpress, but I think that might be too hard considering my little experience with PHP. I would also have to write a research paper to go with it and that could get confusing.

Any ideas are really appreciated.

to write such a program, you also need to learn SQL fairly well, but a year and really hitting the books.

Make sure you look into the 3 (or 4 depending on how you look at it) normal forms, and SQL injection/prepared functions.

WordPress is a huge project, and is built my many, many developers. That's why it's as good as it is.

I have built my own blogging scripts that are customized to my own habits (just blog posts, pages, comments, and a few extra features..). I loaned some books from the local library, and also searched online.
