Dude, NYC is the wrong place for cheap, everything there is incredibly expensive, especially steak.

While youre in NYC, just get some pizza.... Best pizza in the world by far

Why dont you just go to a good meatstore and make it yourself. . .

because "good steak cheap" is pretty hard to find in this city.

I think that Westville has a really tasty and reasonably priced steak, its about $16.  They have a location in the east village (Ave. A on the corner of e. 11th st. ) and the west village (W. 10th between W. 4th and bleeker).

I'm not so sure about steak, but if its good quality meat your after then you must go to "stage" or "Carnegie deli" in Manhattan. They are both found around 54th and 7th. they have the most amazing pastrami sandwiches you have ever tasted, full of meat and really filling, mmmmm.... also must try the cheesecake there.. best of all its not expensive, around 10/12bucks for the deli sandwich...

cook yourself one!  Go to the grocery store, get a real nice steak, season it and cook it in a pan on the stove!!

Why don't you just visit an Outback.  It is an acceptable steak and is about 1/3rd the price of a real steakhouse.
