Any help?

Doctor said to tape them.what does that mean?

and he said try ankle weights. Have any of you tried them where can i get them? Academy's?

Any other tips on strengthening my ankles?

  1. I don't think you should use ankle weights. You could end up hurting yourself more.I get weak ankles when training for a long distance so I tape them.Use sport tape (it's usually white and you can get it at any drugstore) roll the tape around your ankles a few times tight enough so that your ankles feel supported but not too tight. You don't want to cut off your circulation. And by the way, it will hurt less taking it off if your clean shaven.

  2. Best person to talk to SHOULD BE your doctor, podiatrist, or sports medicine doctor.  Next would be your coach or trainer.  You could get to a sporting goods store and buy elastic ankle supports that may give you more confidence.

I expect this will be a phase for you that lasts 6-8 months and then will go away.  I remember this phase, also the blisters phase when I'd Vaseline all over my feet before running.  Again, 6-8 months the phase.

    Good Luck

    PS.  NO ANKLE WEIGHTS !!

  3. write the letters of the alphabet with your foot whenever your just sitting around. ask your coach if he can tape them for you or just get some braces to wear for a while til they strengthen up thats what i had to do

  4. yeah i need this question cuz mine r "weak" too they feel all shaky after u run and r fine like 10 mins. later i hate it
