As a sophmore girl, I ran the following best times

3200 = 11:11

1600 = 5:19

800 = 2:19

I didn't work hard as a sophmore AT ALL! I was quite lazy, and now that I am a senior, I want to get a full ride to a d1 school...

Can you estimate how many full rides are given out in each state to d1 schools?

Be honest and tell me what times I have to get to to get a good scholarship...

If it helps, my coach says I am capable of under a 10:40 two mile, a sub 5 mile, and a 2:14 800...but he says I will have to train off season to do that because right now all I'm doing is running off of pure talent..

When I ran that 2:19 800, I ran the first lap in 63 seconds...I have never ran the 400, but I'd be decent

Can you guys help me out here? Please?

    Your really close, you need to just work hard.

    What happened your junior year? If you didn't run your in trouble

    I hope the guy below me is a girl because those times are not

    D1. More  like high school freshman times.

  2. You have a great 800 time!

  3. often times runners don't get full rides to college their freshman years, but you seem to be pretty good and so depending on where you want to go it is a good possibility, if anything you would still get a lot of scholarship money even if it wasn't full. what you need to do is contact the coaches of schools you are interested in, you can get their e-mails off the school's athletic web-site. also talk to your current coach and see if he/she will contact them as well. that way you can ask them what they are looking for in their recruits and what you need to do. with what your coach says you can run is very good and will probably get you scholarship offers, but what you "can" run needs to become what you "do" run.

    it is important to keep in mind that you shouldn't go to a school just because they give you a full ride, likewise you shouldn't rule a school out just because they don't. if you like a school and their program then go there because it will be the place you are most comfortable. I turned down a full ride to a D-1 school in favor of running at an NAIA school because I liked the feel of it a lot more.
