Any scientific opinion on # of evoloutionary attempts?

I suppose many attempts have been made by scientist trying to create life. Obviously to no avail although I keep hearing they are very close. My question is why did evoloution keep trying if it is so difficult?

  1. It was not difficult. It was perfectly natural, given sufficient time, sufficient samples, and favorable conditions. I suspect we will find that it has occurred that way on other planets as well. Evolution (spelled "evolution") is a different process entirely which relies on the fact that species produce more offspring than can be supported by the prevailing environment, resulting in survival of the fittest and natural selection.

  2. "Evolution" is not an entity, such as a person or governing body, that "attempts" to reach goals, such as trying to create life. "Evolution" is a theory that explains the process that led to life being created and/or "improved upon", despite whatever that process turned out to be.

In other words, "Evolution" didn't create anything, "Evolution" is a label that  humans have placed on the series of accidents, coincidences, and process of natural selection (although all three actually are interconnected) that led to life, and the apparent improvement of life to deal with the environment it is introduced within.

  3. ??  Evolution didn't 'keep trying'.  Evolution doesn't try at all.  You obviously have no idea of the mechanics of evolution, or you would realize it is the RANDOM generation of variations that eventually results in new, improved forms.  That random variation takes place whether there is any need for any improvements or not, and certainly doesn't 'try' for anything.

In any event, the time scientists have even considered the possibility of forming life is as nothing compared to the time it took evolutionary change to actually do so.  Literally, such a tiny tiny percentage of the time that it cannot even be expressed by a meaningful percentage.

  4. this is the famous experimental attempt to create life.

you'll note it has absolutely nothing to do with evolution, which explains how life changes, after it's been created.

    creationists often confuse the two.

  5. they don't give up...

  6. The Earth is extremely old.  It "kept trying" because it has plenty of time to do so.
