  1. Do you have a link to an article?  What does it ionise or excite to create the propulsion?  I love the contra-intuitive way that accelleration works in space!  I have read of heavy probes which are being driven by ion-drives which are so gentle, like a babys' breath, yet they continue to accellerate the heavy probe as a RESULTANT force, for months and then years, sending it millions of miles, faster and ever faster...  Amazingly interesting topic!  I think pysically sending something of our own creation out into space is a wonderful statement of how far we have come.

  2. EmDrive, aka Relativity Drive = read all about it in wiki ..

It's not exactly new but is still rather controversial = i.e. claims of fraud abound

The EmDrive was the cover story for the September 8, 2006 issue of New Scientist = the device exploits an idea first suggested by Allen Cullen in the 1950s...

In May 2007 Eureka magazine reported that a demonstration unit consuming 300 watts for microwave production (and an unspecified amount for ancillary purposes such as cooling) produced 9.8 grams (96.1 millinewtons) of force during testing in October 2006.

.. however (it seems) no-one else has been able to make it work since ... unless you know different ???

  3. Is it like an improbability drive?
