Any sites to order contact lenses that doesn't need to verify it with your eye doctor?

I need to buy contacts but I don't have health insurance anymore, and my prescription is over a year old, so the doctor won't verify it. Is there any site that doesn't ask for your doctor's information?

  1. Unfortunately, you do need to have a current prescription.  I get mine done at Walmart for about $60.

1800contacts matches the lowest price you can find - so if you do what I did then you can get your contacts for about half of what 1800contacts is asking.  I basically just found all of these really dodgy websites that had great deals but I had never heard of them, and didn't really want to give them my credit card information.  At least with 1800contacts I've heard of them and they sort of have a reputation to worry about.  I don't know - I know that's not what you asked, but if you're trying to save money - this is about as much help as I can give!

  3. no, unfortunately, because they are actually medical devices.

  4. You want to try www.colorvuelens.com

  5. No.  You need a valid prescription.  Why can't you get an eye exam without insurance?  They don't cost that much.

  6. Once you get your exam/prescription, this site has discount links for 1800contacts, lensworld, etc.
