  1. advil....or drink the pain away

  2. Conditioning, flexibility exercises, medical exam and care. Also take your boots and ski package to a top boot shop and have foot beds made for your boots, get checked for leg alignment and heel ramp. All of this will put you in better balance with your body and your equipment.  If any of these are not correct for your body and ski style, you will get pain.  After all of this is done, take a series of lessons from a qualified professional instructor. 4 consecutive days of 2 hour private lessons will do wonders for your ability.  Ask for a level 2 or higher instructor.  Level 2 have at least 2 years of teaching and an advanced level of teaching skill.

  3. Stretch before you go up. Make sure your warmed up.  Pop an Advil in and you should be good to go. In the off season you should be hitting the bike or bike machine at a health club. There low impact with bikes. It could help out alot. It did for me.
