Question:

Any solutions to the mercury hazards fluorescent light bulbs impose?

I'm doing a Science project, and can't seem yo find anything. I know that they are making fluorescent light bulbs without mercury now a days, but I need site links. If you know anything, please answer/ leave the link :) Thanks

  1. Two answers -

    One, they use less mercury - not none, and the bulbs should be recycled (not a perfect answer).

    Two - the mercury in the bulb is far less than the mercury that's released when burning fossil fuels to keep an equivalent incandescent bulb lit. So while the bulb has some mercury, even if it's all let loose, the net impact is less than what it would be if an incandescent bulb was used.
