1. You should avoid things with high carb content, added fat (especially saturated fat) baked and boiled potatoes are ok in moderation (no half pound baked potatoes with butter or sour cream) but fries, chips, and most snack foods are out.

If you are used to having meat two or three times a day you may find a vegan diet uncomfortably bland at first. You do need some fat... vegetable fat...fry foods in vegetable oil ..

like olive oil mazola oil, etc but use sparingly. One reason tofu is popular is it can be made to taste like meat even though it is all vegetable...stir frying a small amount of meat with tofu will give you a generous serving of meat tasting vegetables. Become a label reader and if you encounter things you do not know look them up ... Sugar for example (a vegetable product which should be used in moderation) comes under many names, fructose, maltose, dextrose, lactose, fruit juice etc. Tallow is beef etc etc etc....but it is not really hard to do this..after a while you will learn what to choose and what to avoid. Keep doing your research!!

  2. Gelatin is in many things and it is dangerous business.

    Candy, medicine, marshmallows.

    Always check the packaging.

  3. Anything that tastes good.

  4. Food coloring: carmine (it's read, made from beetles)/cochineal (Wikipedia it to get all the names)

    any soups, question thoroughly

gelatin (skittles, starbursts, marshmallows, lucky charms, medicine<--probably can't help that one, but if you can avoid supplements that contain it, do)

    mexican food and lard

    sources of cheese rennet

people thinking meatless=REDmeatless, and give you seafood/chicken instead

People lying to you (be nice and say you're a big tipper if asking the waitress)

  5. I think potatoe chips

  6. Gelatin is in a lot of foods, especially chewy candy, marshmallows, and Jello. A lot of soups have animal stock in them, so read labels. Soups and sauces at restaurants often have stock in them too, so ask your waitress/waiter. A lot of cheeses contain rennet, which comes from cow stomach
