Any substitute for red chili paste

I am making a chicken dish that asks for red chili paste. I dont have it. Is there a substitute for that. Some of the other ingreds. are peanut butter honey.

    Chili paste is a blend of hot chile peppers, garlic, oil, and salt that's commonly used in Asian cuisine.  It includes Chinese chili paste, Szechuan chile paste, Sichuan chili paste,, Korean chili paste, and Vietnamese chile paste.

    Substitutes:  try using hot sauce OR harissa OR crushed red pepper flakes (to taste; start with 1/4 as much) OR dried red chili peppers
