Any suggestion on problem with lens on digital camera?

i took my camera to the beach and got sand in the lens, now the lens wont close and keeps saying lens error restart camera. its a canon powershot SX100 IS.

    you can really do about it, sorry dear.

    i had the same  thing happen to my canon powershot s3IS digital camera, but, it happened for no reason. Usually, it happens when something obstructs the lens's path, or when you over-use the battery. The lens error is a very weird situation that happens alot sometimes.

    in terms of fixing this problem, you can't really do that much, other than to send it in ( not for free of course ), because technically, you shouldn't of gotten sand in it, and they won't see it as their fault, But, the lens should cost that much to fix/repair trust me.

    Canon's lens error is so irritating isn't it ? trust me, the next time you go to get a camera, you should go with nikon, its optics are much better. :P
