He gave me the name of it, and I am beginning to sense some bull here. I'm checking out information he gave me and, although somehow it could still be true, it doesn't seem too good. Or maybe that's just it. If it seems too good to be true, then it is! Any suggestions?

The merchant marines dont employ  mechanics. There are licensed engineers, unlicensed engineers, oilers (engineer's assistants) and wipers (unskilled labor).
