Question:

Any suggestions/advice regarding charting BBT?

I am currently on day 4 of my new cycle (so I'm still on my period), and I'm interested in charting my BBT since we're TTC and I've been having some irregular cycles since stopping BC 3 months ago (a 55 day cycle and then a 45 day cycle). I have a digital BB thermometer. The instructions told me to start charting the next morning after I'm done bleeding. I am totally new to charting BBT, so any advice is welcome. Is there a website that you like to use to organize your temperatures? Or do you just use a paper graph/chart to chart it? I am still confused as to when my fertile periods are--is it the day my temperature starts spiking or the day after the spike? or during? Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks.

  1. Yep definitely give FertilityFriend.com a go, it interprets your chart for you, so it takes the guess work out mostly,  although with charting it won't tell you - you ovulated until you have 3 sustained higher temps, alot of women have a temp dip they day of actual ovulation, and FF will confirm ovulation after 3 days of higher temps. So you might want to think about using OPK's for the 1st cycle, so you will know when to BD, otherwise it will just be guess work for the 1st month, When charting though you may also want to chart your cervical mucus and maybe even cervical position as that combined with your temp will help FF confirm ovulation better, and when you have egcm or watery cm you know it's time to BD just incase ovulation is happening. If any of that made sense. Good Luck, FF has a free 20 lessons course you can do so you will learn everything there is to know about charting etc

  2. use fertilityfriend.com it is great  for charting etc

  3. I am also on CD 4 and I just started charting my BBT. I was told to start taking my temps on CD1. I use fertilityfriend.com and its really easy to understand. Plus like the previous person said there are 20 online courses that you can take to better understand how to chart. Its actually very easy!

    Good Luck!
