Question:

Any suggestions for a yearbook commercial to play on the morning video announcements?

This is the first year that our yearbook is in full color, and we're going to try and utilize the new video announcements to promote our early release party. We need a clever way of incorporating the fact that the ENITRE book is now in color. We wanted to try and do something where we start in black and white and go to color like pleasantville or wizard of oz. We were throwing ideas around in class, but I have to write the script and I'm afraid it'll turn out cliche. Ideas: kid who doesn't come stays in b&w everyone else changes to color; King Midas/skittles commercial where someone touches a bag of skittles and it turns into a yearbook; parody of pulp fiction briefcase with beam of light . . . there were a few more but I can't remember. I either want your opinion on which to do and how, or a completely new idea. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  1. There's only a hand full of kids that actually seen the movie Pleastantville and even fewer kids actually watch the Wizard of Oz in it's entirety.  I would go for what the kids can relate to today and that would be a the Skittles commercial that most everyone that has a TV seen.

Why not start off your school's in house commercial where a couple of kids are wondering if they should buy this years yearbook, because it might still be in black and white.  Then when they go to the booth to reserve/purchase a copy they open the display yearbook and as they flip the pages it turns from black and white to color?!

Have a small group talking about how they hate the way they look ... dull and boring and when they open up the yearbook they find that their color pictures in the yearbook ... looks like models rather than themselves.

  2. It should be society oriented so that society could be developed and not only to make them laugh and for which they are becoming edicts.  As the serials are only for the advertisements and wasting of time which are making people lazy and not doing any thing for them, family, society and mankind.
