Question:

Any suggestions for an amp to run Alpine Type X in the front and Type R in the rear?

Heres the setup I'm considering

Front: Alpine SPX-17REF (4 Ohms 100 Watts RMS)

Rear: Alpine SPR-17C (4 Ohms 75 Watts RMS)

Can I hook both of these up to the same amp? I'm considering the Alpine MRP-F600 (100 watts RMS at 4 Ohms) I'll be doing another amp for the sub and don't want to have to put an extra battery in. I also plan on installing this myself but have no experience doing so, I'll be using online recources as well as the Car Stereo Cookbook.

Also: is there a cheaper amp that will do the job as well as or better than this one? Maybe Pioneer?

  1. check ebay for some of Hifonics Brutus series amps. these are some EXCELLENT amps for cheap prices. the also have other series you could use for the mids. i have 1 in each of my vehicles. i also have a pioneer premier that i plan on selling to replace with a hifonics for highs
