I'm going to visit Delhi for about 6-8 days sometime next week..

I'm looking for suggestions for cheap accommodation there..

Any budget hostels, dharamshalas, etc.

I'm 30 y.o.. so a student type accom would be ok as long as its a single room and decent shower. Willing to pay up to 400 rs per day.. . google has not been very helpful in finding a place in this budget.

Any guys out there who wanna rent out a room with couch are also welcome..

Any suggestions?

  1. You will definitely get something suitable in the Pahar Ganj area which specifically caters to foreign tourists and business visitors on a shoe string budget.  If you check tripadvisor.com and go to the Forums pages - check Delhi forums, I remember reading about contact details for these hotels.  These forums have a lot of info from foreigners who have first hand experience of hotels, etc.   If you are a lady travelling alone, be prudent as to where you stay and how you dress in Delhi and North India.  You can also check travelguru.com but Im not sure if they do anything below Rs1000.

  2. www.delhitourism.com

  3. well in Delhi you can get below Rs. 1000 rooms only in the area of Paharganj, which is also accessible with the metro. Im not sure about the room quality and shower as did not have any personal expereince, makemytrip.com has few hotels listed in Pahar Ganj offering 380, 400 check out them you will find few

  4. If you are a member of YMCA there are some decent accommodations through them.

Otherwise the advice by 2 above sounds good.
