  1. dont make your self look like a freshman and dont stick out. youll be fine its alot of fun really but you and all your classmen have to mature alot to be accepted.

  2. I would just say be prepared for all of it...and for me being organized and paying attention in class really helped!

    good luck!

    :-)

  3. Try to find your classes beforehand so you won't be late and get stuck sitting in the front row or next to the smelly guy. Some teachers automatically use your first choice as your permanent sitting arrangement. Or, other students assume that's "your spot" so your stuck sitting there. Typically schools give you a print out copy of a map or have their layout posted online. Oh, don't forget to bring change for the vending machines just in case the cafeteria lines get to hectic. First day in the cafeteria is total chaos. Other than that, high school is a breeze. You definitely get freedom of choice in many instances that you didn't get in junior high. Make sure to join a least one club. Why? You get: out-of-town or during school field trips, socializing, free food, looks great in your college application, etc.  Good luck!

  4. dont worry! relax! i was just a freshman this year and i was SO excited to go to school, but on the first day at the bus stop i was soo nervous!

if not going to lie to you, i did get lost.. really bad .. for about the first week .. and i used to retrace my steps and go around in squares and think i was taking short cuts when really i had been in that halway twice before XD

just take a deeep breath and relax!  teachers will be in the hallways to help you + youre going to have LOADS of fun!

  5. well I'm going to the 11th grade but i can remember my first day of high school and to be honest i was very nervous. I guess because my high school  is HUGE compared to my middle school and I didn't go to the orientation so i wasn't sure where any of my classes would be, so i had my older sister walk me around for the first week or so. But my advice to you would be to either go to the orientation if you can or have an older sibling family member or friend walk you around on the first day to make sure you get to your classes alright. Its a lot different from middle school so you may be very surprised but just make sure you know where you are going and if not ask a teacher in the hall way or a friend or even someone that you dont know to see if they have the same classes as you ok... Good Luck!!

  6. Just be yourself and remember why you are there-

to get a scholarship to the University of your choice so you can study what you want to and have choices later in your life.

Don't fall into the trap of worrying about being popular or getting into cliques. I have observed that the people who do better later in life (when it counts more) may not have been the most popular people in High School, though they stayed on top of their work. The academics of High School aren't that difficult; not getting caught up in silly social games can be quite difficult.

    So be yourself, have lots of fun and make lots of Friends;

just get your school work done first.

  7. good luck!!!

i'm starting 9th grade this year

  8. It's not hard. Just make sure to bring a notebook on your first day to take some notes on things your teachers will talk about. The hardest part during school is probably making time to go to your locker. I came up with a little system that helped me, I would go to my locker before school to get my stuff for my morning classes, during break and switch to the classes before lunch, at lunch for after lunch classes and then after school. You don't want to be carrying around your stuff all the time or be late for classes. First thing you should do is make sure your schedule is right. If it isn't go to your counselor ASAP to fix it. If you find you're uncomfortable with a class you're taking because it might be too hard or even too easy, I would go to your counselor and change it. You want a schedule that will let you be able to do well in your classes. The most important part is homework. Homework counts even more than tests, so ALWAYS do it! It helps you get ready for tests and quizzes, too. You'll do great! It isn't hard, I promise! Just stay on track with homework and schoolwork and you'll be just fine.

  9. BE YOUR SELF, if not then things will go down hill for you, don't blend in with the wrong crowd, and study hard, it might not be the biggest trend, but it will be worth it :)

  10. I still remember when me and my best friend were freaking out about going to high school about 6 years ago =]

The simple thing to do is just to do your work- always stay on top of it and you should never have a problem passing a test or a class so long as you make sure you do every assignment. Social things are the least of your worries.

High school is a lot of fun. It's probably the first place where you start noticing you're being treated as an adult and it's such a great feeling. Don't worry too much about it.

    Keep organized.

    Keep a planner.

    Do all work before play.

Annnd don't skip too much ;]
