Any suggestions for kids shows?

My 2 year old son absolutely LOVES Caillou-I can't figure out why, there are no effects-it's just kind of blah--I have had to make him stop watching it because frankly, Caillou is a BRAT-he cries and throws fits, he tells his mother "no" and "I don't want to" he doesn't share with his sister! Sad that the little fellow is a bad influence. Anyone else pick up on this? ANYHOW. We don't watch TV that much but when we do, I need replacement shows-what do you let your children watch? (we have ALL the kid channels)

backyardigans is excellent, they sing and dance and play makebelieve it encourages them to use their imagination.  little einstiens is excellent to though but only if you want them to learn about music like i want my kids to.  it teaches things like diminuendos, crescendos and beethoven peices.

Since you are such a good mom by observing that about Caillou, I have to tell you I noticed the same thing about many diff shows.  Even things like Curious George (he does bad things and gets rewarded). Also wiggles or sesame street seem to make them SUPER hyper active.  I have since decided that no TV won't hurt them.  I tried it out and now they are reading books all the time!  They "pretend" and are really happy, they don't miss it at all.  

I say kill the TV:)

my 18 month old LOVES the wiggles, mickey mouse clubhouse and winnie the pooh. also yo gabba gabba but that one is kinda stupid i think but she loves it

That's what I dislike about today's cartoons, the bad behavior of characters, or the loud annoying voice.  My boy liked Little Einsteins and The Mickey Mouse club.

my 2 & 3 year olds love Oswald, Franklin, Little Bear, and Max & Ruby. Sometimes they watch Diego, and they both know their colors and numbers in spanish! but their most favorite show is Wow! Wow! Wubbzy. all of these shows can be found on Noggin. great channel for preschoolers. =]

yeah I can't stand that Caillou, he is so whiny I hate that show.

We watch Backyardigans which I can get into because I love their songs and dances- and shows like Blue's Clues and Dora or Diego because they are interactive and my 3 year old loves to listen and participate in the show.

I absolutely agree I never let my daughter watch this because he is a whinny brat. If you have cable or dish try Noggin channel 301 on direct tv. I have a daycare and it is all I let the kids watch when they have tv time.They call it pre-school on tv great educational shows and the kids love it! Backyardigins, pinky dinky doo, max and ruby, franklin, and  so many more are all good shows.
