Question:

Any suggestions of what this could be?

I am a 16 year old school student and when I am writing I will think one thing and write another or just totally not write a letter and start going on to the next one. I especially do this in maths where I think a number and write another or write a plus instead of a minus etc. and it's causing me to lose valuable marks, as every mark counts in extension. I have no troubles reading or word dont "jump" across the page but have regardless been told to get tested for dyslexia. I have been to see my doctor and he thinks its possible i am dyslexic and I have to go get tested sometime.

Also when I am copying something I will often skip a few words or a line. Its like my mind isnt communicating with my hand or something and it's really bugging me.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what it might be, or if it is indeed dyslexia, it would be a good help :-)

  1. It is possible that your brain is moving to quick but get tested. If this is something that adults have recommended you get tested for then it never hurts to find out.

Here are some indicators of dyslexia:

    -child begins talking late

    -adds new words slowly

    -has difficulty rhyming

-The inability to recognize words and letters on a printed page

-reading ability level well below the expected level for the age of your child

-problems processing and understanding what they hear.

-difficulty comprehending rapid instructions, following more than one command at a time or remembering the sequence of things.

-Reversals of letters (b for d) and a reversal of words (saw for was)

-failure to see (and occasionally to hear) similarities and differences in letters and words, may not recognize the spacing that organizes letters into separate words, and may be unable to sound out the pronunciation of an unfamiliar word.

Get tested, talk to your doctor. Catch it now and the rest of your life will be more managable.
