Just finished my college course and i have got onto the next course but now it's the holidays, i work as a Kitchen Assistant but haven't got many hours and my parents keep saying to me get a job, like McDonalds. I don't see any point in getting another job because i already have one which i am happy with and when i go back to college i won't be able to work that often anyway and plus i would rather not work at McDonalds !

  1. Since you're already working in Hospitality based work, you could line-extend or go into part time work within hospitality. are you near a golf course? if so, you could caddy. The great thing about that is the older guys who golf are often businessmen who know of open jobs within their own if not someone else's companies. great for student networking.

    good luck in school.

  2. Hi, I believe I can help you in your situation. Currently I’m a student at The Art Institute of Washington, Part-time I work with a company called CashKrazy. Cashkrazy is a free service which pays members money to complete free surveys and questionnaires. Membership is completely free and Cashkrazy will never ask for your credit card information or for any payment of any kind. Cashkrazy pays its members Via Check and Paypal; also you can request your payment when you feel like. The company gives out a free $5 to all users just for joining. The company offers a very high payout and also rewards members greatly for referring new members to the company. To participate in CashKrazy, you must be an individual at least 13 years of age and reside in the United States of America. Great part-time income!

  3. Dont blame you on the McDonalds job!  If you are ahppy with your job and are earning enough then stay with it.  You could probably get another job to suit your hours and pay a little more than a kitchen assistant though.  Try the job centre and see what they have.  Good luck.

  4. Why not try this on-line survey site, build up your credit and get paid by cheque when you reach £50.00, I have recieve several in the past year, every little helps and all the surveys are short.

  6. Try and find something in your field of study, ensure that you enjoy your career. I don't know what your interests are but look for something that you want to try. At 17 you have plenty of time to figure that out. I went to work in a cabinet shop when I was 17, and I loved it. But after a few years the glass ceiling hit, so I went a different route. I now have a nuclear engineering degree. Good luck with school, and don't be afraid to work hard> it pays off.

  7. Just search the job centre, Least you have at least one job, Im 17 and cant get my first job and been trying for 3 years.

  8. why don't you ask at your local supermarket? i used to work at asda and they pay quiet well and also take on seasonal staff who work mostly in school holidays and in term time on a part time basis if you wanted to. im sure sainsburys and tescos do seasonal staff aswell. also you'll meet loads of people your age and make new friends too.
